About

In this talk Historian Ricky Pound will discuss the types of porcelain that would have been typically collected, displayed, and used by the likes of Henrietta Howard in the early 18th century. Often called 'white gold' due to its cost, porcelain was a symbol of an individual's wealth, taste, status and fashionability.

This talk will also examine the social rituals associated with the drinking of tea and the form and function of the porcelain itself. Ricky will also illustrate some examples for his own collection.
