About

Join us for an exclusive afternoon in conversation with the author of forthcoming novel The Poppy Girls, set at The Poppy Factory.

The Poppy Girls tells the story of three teenagers who come of age during the Second World War while living on the factory's residential estate, where their veteran fathers are all employed making Remembrance wreaths. It will be published by Penguin on 23 October.

Author Kirsty Dougal will discuss the book and answer readers' questions in this special event in the visitor centre, at 3pm on Monday 10 November. Guests will have the opportunity to ask questions and to explore the exhibition, see Remembrance wreaths being made, and make a poppy to wear or take home.
